About MeCurrent Position: Instructional Specialist for the Kentucky Department of Education and I am 'on loan' from Monroe County school district. I support Kentucky K-12 teachers in using research-based, Highly-Effective Teaching and Learning strategies to teach mathematics and science KCAS, specifically and administrators in professional learning, evidence of student learning, and meeting their school/district particular needs. I am a free resource to Kentucky public school districts and spend most days 'in the field' working with teachers and/or administrators at their school(s).
I am a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in the field of Early Adolescence Mathematics. I was a middle school mathematics and science teacher (18 years) and spent several of those years as a Math Coach for the district. I served as the district's Gifted Coordinator for the last few years I was there as well. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Middle School Education with an emphasis in Math and Science, my Master's Degree in Gifted Education, and my Rank I certification in Education Administration - Instructional Supervisor from Western Kentucky University. On a personal note, I am a wife and mother to three children. |
