Illustrative Mathematics - Illustrative Mathematics provides guidance to states, assessment consortia, testing companies, and curriculum developers by illustrating the range and types of mathematical work that students experience in a faithful implementation of the Common Core State Standards, and by publishing other tools that support implementation of the standards.
Achieve the Core - The Common Core State Standards are a new set of expectations designed to ensure all students achieve college and career readiness.Forty-six states have now adopted these shared standards so their students can compete and succeed on a world stage. This site is here to provide free, high-quality resources to educators now doing the hard work of implementing these higher standards.
Inside Mathematics - Welcome to Inside Mathematics, a professional resource for educators passionate about improving students' mathematics learning and performance. This site features classroom examples of innovative teaching methods and insights into student learning, tools for mathematics instruction that teachers can use immediately, and video tours of the ideas and materials on the site.
PARCC - The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) is a consortium of 23 states plus the U.S. Virgin Islands working together to develop a common set of K-12 assessments in English and math anchored in what it takes to be ready for college and careers. These new K-12 assessments will build a pathway to college and career readiness by the end of high school, mark students’ progress toward this goal from 3rd grade up, and provide teachers with timely information to inform instruction and provide student support. The PARCC assessments will be ready for states to administer during the 2014-15 school year. SAMPLE ITEMS and PROTYPES can be found by clicking here. Access the Model Content Framework by clicking here.
Live Binders - This is a 3-ring binder for the web. Teachers use it to Collect resources and Organize them neatly and easily. LOTS of lessons and activities already created in binders. REMEMBER, be critical consumers when using others' resources.
Dan Meyer's Three Act Tasks - Dan Meyer has created a spreadsheet on which he has listed the Three Acts of many math tasks. Act One is the video or image of a situation that generates questions that can be answered mathematically. In Act One the student asks a question and then determines what information is needed to answer the question. Act Two gives further information that may help answer the question. Act Three shows a video or image that answers the question. In this spreadsheet, a common question is posed based on Act One and then Acts Two and Three are based on that question.
